Bachelor Thesis from the year 2014 in the subject Leadership and Human Resource Management - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,7, University of applied sciences Frankfurt a. M., course: International Management, language: English, abstract: "We have to get used to the thought that companies are much more dependent on their best employees than the good people from the company." With reference to this statement made by Peter Drucker in 2002, the contribution of employees to a company's success and their growing independence from current employer takes on greater significance in the management of human resources. Already in the 1990s, the war for talents has been declared on the basis of decreasing resources of employees who own valuable qualifications on behalf of organisational success. Employers nowadays are growingly confronted with economic circumstances influencing the quantity and quality of their workforce. Thus, demographic changes will modify the composition of employee workforces, while globalisation will enable employees to rapidly change their place of employment. In addition, organisations are likely to counteract skill shortages and increasing readiness of employees to leave an employer for a more profitable offer. With regard to these global developments, the work of HR management is to implement a specified form of management strategy in order to maintain experienced and valuable employees within the organisation, as well as to ensure continuing productivity. Similar to the common practiced customer relationship management aiming at establishing a stable customer base and associated higher profitability, employee retention management transfers experiences in retaining promising customers to human resource processes and therefore focuses on employees as an additional crucial element in corporate success. Basically, there is a growing consensus that the retention of employees is a key determinant of further strategic competitiveness and longterm success of a company. In fact, various surveys among human resource departments agree in their findings that the retention of employees will be prioritised in further human resource strategies. In order to counteract employees' willingness to leave their employer, retention management intends to respond appropriately to employees' needs by means of individualised incentives which are considered to improve the employees' conformity and loyalty with the employer. Thus, the elaboration of the variety of possible instruments presented in this thesis may lead organisations in their development towards a strategic concept enhancing the organisations' attractiveness as an employer which will enable organisations to current economic influences.

The hospital X (X) is aware of the current and future health policy and demographic development and its impact on the recruitment and retention of qualified health and nursing staff. In comparison to last years, the decreasing number of suitable applicants and the need for multiple job postings can already be seen as early indicators of an impending shortage of skilled workers. As a forward thinking company the X considers it necessary to cope with the issue of employment retention in the field of health and medical care in order to meet future developments adequately. This initial situation is an opportunity to analyze the existing human resources of the X and develop innovative measures in the area of employee retention. An intention of this paper is to show the specific loads and resources of the occupational health and nursing staff through literature review. In addition, theoretical approaches and determinants of employee retention and appropriate controlling instruments shall be presented. By setting off the opportunities and objectives of employee retention with the consequences of a lack of retention management, the importance of the human resource management instrument is to be illustrated to the company's management. The central aim of the thesis is to develop a recommended course of action for employee retention in the health and medical care after having analyzed the status quo at the hospital BHB R. This concept is to be understood as an innovative suggestion. It seeks to demonstrate how it is possible to succeed in implementing employee retention in a company with many standardized processes at the individual level, adapted to the needs of nurses.CAVE: Betriebsinterna wurden aus Datenschutzgründen zensiert, daher fehlt innerhalb der Veröffentlichung die erarbeitete Betriebsanalyse.

Academic Paper from the year 2019 in the subject Gender Studies, University of Nairobi (ODEL Campus), course: Project Planning and Management, language: English, abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of NGOs initiatives on management of gender based violence projects in public primary schools in Ndhiwa Sub County (Kenya). The study is guided by specific objectives. To establish the extent to which Support Group influence management of gender based violence, to determine how dissemination of information through digital platform influence management of gender based violence. And to examine the level at which sports development influence management of gender based violence and to determine how external factors moderate relationship between NGOs initiative and management of gender based violence in public primary schools in Ndhiwa Sub County. The research is inclined to social learning and performance failure theories. The study adopted descriptive survey research design, collected and analyzed both qualitative and quantitative data. The study's target population was 6000 respondents drawn from twenty public primary schools that have NGOs implementing gender based violence initiative projects. A sample size of 380 respondents was determined using Krejcie & Morgan table of 1970.The respondents were selected using proportionate allocation of the sample to all schools and systematic random sampling techniques. Data collection instruments comprised both self-administered questionnaire with a return rate of 95% and interview schedule for the NGO Project Managers and teachers at the schools. Pilot testing was conducted in Migori town to determine construct and content validity of the research instruments. The prevalent rate of gender violence in Kenya is a major concern. About 36 percent of women who have experienced gender violence, the first experience of violence occurred at age 15-19. Schools are no longer the safe spaces that were considered to be as most of the violence is meted on children while they are either in school or the journey to and from school. It is against this backdrop that many organizations have tailored their programs around school related gender based violence with the key intention of reducing the prevalent rate, encourage school retention and improved academic performance.

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2011 in the subject Pedagogy - The Teacher, Educational Leadership, grade: masters degree level, Moi University (Dept of Educational Management and Policy), course: Educational administration, language: English, abstract: The purpose of study was to investigate students' perception on head teacher's role in implementation of girls' re-admission policy. The study was to help highlight the plight of girls who drop out of school as a result of pregnancy with a view of giving them a chance to continue with education through re-admission. To achieve this objective the study examined students' perception on head teachers' administrative, counseling and support roles. Students' perception was the dependent variable whereas the head teachers' age, gender, educational level and teaching experience were independent variables. The study was based on Tinto's (1975) model of student retention which stipulates that a student persists or drops out depending on their degree of both academic and social integration. The research design was a descriptive survey where questionnaires and interview schedule were used to collect data. Target populations were form three students, head teachers, counseling teachers, class teachers and the District Quality Assurance and Standards Officer. Sampling techniques used in the study were Simple Random, Stratified and Purposive. Reliability of the instruments was established through a pilot study in a school outside the study area. Cronbach's alpha was used to assess the reliability coefficient that yielded a value of 0.82. Validity of instruments was determined through expert judgment involving discussions with other researcher's and colleagues. Data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study established that head teachers had not implemented the girls' re-admission policy to the expectation as reflected in the poor discharge of administrative, counseling and support roles. It was also established that head teachers' educational level and teaching experience had a positive influence on administrative role whereas teaching experience had a positive influence on both counseling and support roles. The study recommended; the Kenyan Ministry of Education to review the policy so as to come up with appropriate guidelines for implementation, counseling to be strengthened in schools , further training for head teachers and introduction of support programs for the girls who drop out of school due to pregnancy.
